Italian heavyweight prospect Guido Vianello, already known for his flashy entrances set to Queen’s “Hammer to Fall” and featuring showy gladiator attire, says he’ll be returning on June 15 as part of the Tyson Fury vs Tom Schwarz card at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Vianello is 3-0 (3 KO) as a pro, most recently fighting on April 12 in Los Angeles on the Lomachenko-Crolla card. His fight aired on the ESPN+ prelim portion of the show, and he stopped Lawrence Gabriel in just 49 seconds.
The 24-year-old fighter, who represented Italy at the 2016 Olympics, is working with trainer Abel Sanchez and is a legit prospect in the heavyweight division.
The Fury-Schwarz fight has been intensely criticized, and rightly so, but at least the undercard is looking potentially decent. Along with Vianello, another heavyweight prospect, Philadelphia’s Sonny Conto (2-0, 2 KO), will be in prelim action, and though it hasn’t been officially announced by Top Rank yet, there’s a lot of smoke around a 175-pound fight between former titleholder Eleider Alvarez and two-time 168-pound title challenger Jesse Hart.
The full Fury vs Schwarz card will stream live on ESPN+.
