One day ahead of their fights in California on DAZN, former Uzbek Olympians and current top pro prospects Shakhram Giyasov and Murodjon Akhmadaliev have signed co-promotional deals with Matchroom Boxing USA and World of Boxing.

Junior welterweight Giyasov (7-0, 6 KO) won gold at the 2017 World Amateur Champions and silver at the 2016 Olympics as a welterweight before turning pro in March 2018. He’s mostly faced journeyman types so far, no pure cupcakes, and is looking to move fast.

The 25-year-old, now based in Brooklyn, will face veteran Emanuel Taylor (20-5, 14 KO) in a 10-round bout on tomorrow’s DAZN show.

“This is great news for my future and I cannot wait to start my journey on DAZN tomorrow night,” said Giyasov. “I have seen it all in the amateurs, now I am here in the pros to get the same success. There’s a lot of hard work to come but I am ready to put that work in to win world titles and thrill the fans, starting in LA tomorrow.”

Super bantamweight Akhmadaliev (5-0, 4 KO) won silver at the 2015 World Amatuer Championships and bronze at the 2016 Olympics as a bantamweight and turned pro in March 2018, on the same card as Giyasov.

Now 24, Akhmadaliev is based in California and is already the mandatory challenger for the winner of Friday night’s 122-pound title unification between Daniel Roman and TJ Doheny.

“I am delighted to be teaming up with Matchroom Boxing USA, DAZN, and World of Boxing,” said Akmadaliev. “I am excited to be in action in Los Angeles tomorrow night and I will be looking to steal the show. I will be very interested in the Roman vs Doheny fight as I would love to fight the winner of that one.”

Promoter Eddie Hearn is excited about the signings, as you’d expect.

“I’m delighted to welcome these two outstanding young talents to the Matchroom Boxing USA team,” said promoter Eddie Hearn. “Both are unquestionably future world champions and both have electric styles that will light up venues and broadcast platforms around the world. I’m looking forward to seeing them tomorrow night at the Forum and live on DAZN.”

Bad Left Hook will have live coverage of the full DAZN show tomorrow night, starting at 7:30 pm ET.
