We had an early Fight of the Year candidate on Friday night, with Daniel Roman winning a decision over TJ Doheny in a 12-round shootout to unify the WBA and IBF super bantamweight titles. This was a fight that had hype going in, at least for hardcore fans, and it more than delivered.

In the main event on DAZN, Juan Francisco Estrada beat Srisaket Sor Rungvisai by decision to win the WBC super flyweight title. Estrada says he would like to unify first, but is open to a third fight with Sor Rungvisai.

Late on Thursday night, the WBC tweeted a little early on a fight between Errol Spence Jr and Shawn Porter having “been announced.” It’s not, but we did get a little update on that today, which came in the form of good news: when Spence-Porter is made official, as it almost certainly will be, it’s probably not going to be on pay-per-view.
