Carlos Adames-Frank Galarza leads Crawford-Khan ESPN2 Prelims

Adames is ranked by all major sanctioning bodies

Top Rank

Those of you unwilling to shell out for the Terence Crawford-Amir Khan pay-per-view on April 20th will still get to enjoy some action thanks to a five-fight Prelims broadcast on ESPN2. The featured bout pits top Dominican super welterweight Carlos Adames against former prospect Frank Galarza, while Indian amateur great Vikas Krishan makes his second pro appearance one fight prior.

Adames (16-0, 13 KO) is one of Top Rank’s brighter young stars, a 24-year-old former amateur standout with a strong punch and a fairly robust résumé for a prospect of his stature. Galarza (20-2-2, 12 KO) was considered one to watch at 154 before running into the then-unknown Jarrett Hurd and following up that KO loss by dropping a majority decision to Ishe Smith. He currently rides a three-fight winning streak and looks to be a good opponent for Adames.

Krishan (1-0, 1 KO), whom Bob Arum said would be their “Indian Marvelous Marvin Hagler,” twice represented India in the Olympics and took gold at both the Asian and Commonwealth Games. He should have no issues against Noah Kidd (3-1-1, 2 KO).

Noah issues.

The other A-sides are Edgar Berlanga (9-0, 9 KO), Lawrence Newton (11-0, 7 KO), and Larry Fryers (9-1, 3 KO).
