As Amir Khan (33-4, 20 KOs) prepares for his April 20th title fight against WBO reigning champion Terence Crawford (34-0, 25 KOs) on April 20th, Khan let’s some camera behind the scenes during his training camp.
The training begins like all boxing-focused camps should: from the ground up. Khan talks about improving his footwork and balance, which has got him in trouble during some of his past fights.
One of the coaches Khan is working with, Aaron Thigpen, shared these thoughts on what he wants Khan to get out of this training camp:
“What I do with Amir, in this particular instance, for this fight, is I’m working on his movement skills. So, basically I’m looking at him and I’m saying ‘hey, how can we get him to move more efficiently, how can we get him to move more effectively so that he can produce offense and defense and not put himself at risk or in jeopardy.’”
Later in the video Khan works on some of his technique under the guidance of trainer Virgil Hunter. Check out the full video feature above to get a glimpse of Khan heading into this big fight.
