TBA’s June 1st has just gotten a little less busy thanks to English prospect Josh Kelly getting his assignment: Philadelphia welterweight Ray Robinson.

Robinson (24-3-1, 12 KO) was on a 13-fight winning streak last year when he ran headlong into Yordenis Ugas, who put him away in seven. He returned 13 months later against undefeated Egidijus Kavaliauskas, holding “The Mean Machine” to a draw over 10 ugly rounds.

Even with his recent struggles, he looks to be Kelly’s (9-0, 6 KO) toughest foe to date. The Sunderland native owns wins over a faded Carlos Molina, Kris George, and previously unbeaten Przemyslaw Runowski.

The rest of the card includes Katie Taylor vs. Delfine Persoon in a four-belt lightweight unification, Kal Yafai’s mandatory super flyweight title defense against Norbelto Jimenez, and Chris Algieri vs. Tommy Coyle. Joshua Buatsi, Callum Smith, and Austin Williams are all listed on BoxRec but do not have opponents.
