Wilder-Breazeale: Deontay Wilder’s Media Workout

Watch Wilder knock off some mitts with his power punches.

With just a few days left before Deontay Wilder defends his WBC heavyweight title against mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale on Showtime, the champion holds an open media workout for fans who’d like to get a glimpse inside his training camp and current form.

Here you can see Wilder go through a short mitts routine with the legendary Mark Breland, one of Wilder’s trainers. Breland was brought in to work with Wilder a while back in order to start developing an outside game for the fighter, specifically working on his jab and setting up that crushing right.

Wilder has shown some flashes of improvement in this area, but has at best been inconsistent with it. Wilder still has the tendency to let his emotions take over in the ring, and when that happens his technique tends to fly right out of the window. Maybe Wilder has designs on keeping it all together, but in grudge match of this kind I wouldn’t count on it. This fight should get contentious quickly.

In the meantime, check out some footage of Wilder above, caught by our friends at Fight Hub TV!
