Some minor drama from today in Glasgow, as Josh Taylor initially missed weight by just a bit, but thought he had made it and then began to rehydrate, only to be told that he had to shed a bit more.
Eventually, though, Taylor checked in at 140 pounds, and his fight with IBF junior welterweight titleholder Ivan Baranchyk in tomorrow’s World Boxing Super Series semifinal is set.
Scotland’s Taylor (14-0, 12 KO) will look to win his first world title, but he’ll have to rip it from Baranchyk (19-0, 12 KO), who weighed in fine at 139½.

The co-feature bout on the card, another World Boxing Super Series tournament semifinal, is also set. Bantamweights Emmanuel Rodriguez (19-0, 12 KO) and Naoya Inoue (17-0, 15 KO) both weighed in at 117¾, under the 118-pound limit.
So everything is settled! Tomorrow’s show is on.
