Deontay Wilder takes on Dominic Breazeale in tonight’s main event on Showtime and Sky Sports.

ROUND BY ROUND

DEONTAY WILDER vs DOMINIC BREAZEALE

Round 1: Both fighters trade jabs and Wilder follows it up with another jab that Breazeale catches. Wilder throws a big right that jst misses Breazeale. Breazeale pushes forward with a few touching shots but can’t land. Wilder scores to the body with a left hand. Left hook lands upstairds for Wilder. WILDER GOES FOR A RIGHT HAND AND A BIG ONE LANDS AND STUNS BREAZEALE! WILDER GOES CRAZY! Wilder tries to put Breazeale down but walks right into a big shot that stuns Wilder! HUGE RIGHT HAND FROM WILDER PUTS BREAZEALE DOWN AND OUT! Breazeale gets up but only after the 10-count. Wilder KO-1.

GARY RUSSELL JR. vs KIKO MARTINEZ

Round 1: Russell picks off Martinez straight away with his fast counters. Russell throws a few jabs and then steps off the line to his right. Martinez lands a straight right hand to the body. Counter right hook lands for Russell. Russell sticks a few sharp jabs as Martinez tries to press forward. Martinez tries an overhand right but it doesn’t land clean. Two more jabs come from Russell at center ring. Jab lands to the body for Martinez. Check right hook catches Martinez around the ear. Russell 10-9.

Round 2: Several jabs come from Russell to start the round. Three straight jabs ceom from Russell who then ducks a Martinez counter. Martinez lands a right hand but takes a hard right hook from Russell that may have hurt him. Right hand comes to the body for Martinez. Martinez has a cut over his left eye. Counter right hook lands again for Russell that shocks Martinez. Hard counter left lands for Russell now and wobbles Martinez. Russell lets go a flurry of punches as Martinez just covers up. Russell 10-9, 20-18.

Round 3: Russell starts with a jab, then throws three in rapid-fire motion. Counter left hand lands clean for Russell and stuns Martinez again. Check hook lands well for Russell. Russell misses on a counter left hand and Martinez is now throwing much anymore. It looks like he’s he hesitant now based on the early leather he’s taken. Russell throws a flurry and Martinez just covers up again. Left to the body lands for Martinez now who wants to get his own offense off. Russell is able to defend himself well. Russell 10-9.

Round 4: Martinez leads with a right hand to the body but eats a left hand to the head from Russell in return. Russell throws a few hooks up close and Martinez still wants to come forward to apply pressure. Several jabs come from Russell as he keeps Martinez at the end of his punches. Jabs land for Russell, who follows it up with a shoeshine combination. Martinez’s face is bleeding a lot more now. Martinez walks Russell to the ropes and tries to sneak in some hooks. Russell lands some good counters off the ropes. Russell 10-9, 40-36.

Round 5: Timeout to start the round to clean some water in the corner. Russell starts with a few jabs and then steps over. Martinez walks forward behind his high guard but Russell just throws his combination and pivots away before Martinez can eevn set his feet. Now Martinez times a straight right hand that lands well on Russell. More jabs come from Russell who is keep Martinez at his preferred distance. Counter left hand lands again for Russell. Martinez just doesn’t have the footwork to keep up with Russell. Referee calls a timeout to have a doctor look at Martinez’s cut, which looks a mess. Doctor wants to stop it. It’s over. Russell TKO-5.

JUAN HERALDEZ vs ARGENIS MENDEZ

Round 1: Mendez paws with a jab and Heraldez throws one of his own as both fighters start taking each other’s measure. Jab lands for Heraldez. Heraldez sticks a jab to the body but takes a left hook from Mendez in return. Heraldez gets back to his jab and lands a clean one at center ring. Another clean jab lands for Heraldez who then looks to go back down to the body. Right hand come from Mendez but it falls short. Another jab to the body comes from Heraldez. Short left hook just misses for Heraldez. Heraldez 10-9.

Round 2: Both fighters exchange hooks to open the round. Heraldez gets back to his jab and Mendez tries to establish his own. Now Mendez comes with a left uppercut that doesn’t land clean. Three punches come from Heraldez but Mendez defends them well. Jab lands to the body for Heraldez. Mendez lands a right uppercut to the body when Heraldez jumps in with a combination. Right hand lands to the body for Mendez following a jab. Another right to the body makes contact but Heraldez lands a hard right downstairs in return. Double left hand comes from Heraldez to the body and head. Two more left hands to the head and body land for Heraldez, and that will win him the round for me. Heraldez 10-9, 20-18.

Round 3: Heraldez leads with a couple jabs that don’t land clean. Counter left hook lands for Mendez as he times Heraldez coming in. Mendez leads with a left hook but Heraldez catches it well. Heraldez ties to slip a jab and sneak in a left uppercut to the body. Now Heraldez throws a short combination at center ring. Mendez comes back downstairs with body shot which reminds Heraldez to stick his jab back down to the body. Now Mendez lands a jab to the body. Hard right hand to the body lands for Mendez, followed by a jab upstairs shortly after. Mendez 10-9.

Round 4: Heraldez leads with a jab to the body but Mendez responds with a right hook to the body, then a left hook. Jab lands for Mendez at center ring. Another jab lands for Mendez, who is timing Heraldez as he leans in. Both fighters are getting a little tentative at center ring but Mendez is starting to get off first more often. Double left hook lands for Mendez. Mendez slips a Heraldez jab and then tries to counter with his own. I’m going with Mendez here. Mendez 10-9, 38-38.

Round 5: Mendez counters with a right hand following a Heraldez jab. Mendez lands a sharp jab upstairs. Another jab lands for Mendez but Heraldez manages to land a few clean shots as Mendez holds his ground. Check hook lands for Heraldez. Hard right hand lands clean for Mendez. Heraldez is bleeding from his nose now. Mendez attacks with a few punches that push Heraldez to the ropes. Mendez has really got the timing on his jab down and has Heraldez double thinking himself. Overhand right comes from Mendez to end the round but it doesn’t land clean. Mendez 10-9.

Round 6: Mendez misses on a lead left hook. Heraldez tries with a couple of jabs to the body but he can’t find the range. Mendez charges forward with a combination that pushes Heraldez to the ropes. Heraldez lands a right hand upstairs now. Mendez pushes Heraldez back to the ropes again with a combination. Double left hand scores for Mendez. Now Heraldez tries to rattle off a few left hands but gets in a short right shortly after. Jab lands for Mendez at center ring. I think Mendez is edging these rounds on effective aggression. Mendez 10-9, 58-56.

Round 7: Mendez tries to counter with a jab but it falls short. Both fighters joust with their jabs at center ring. Both fighters trade shots and fall into one another. Heraldez starts pumping his jab a lot but it’s not necessarily landing clean all the time. Right hand lands to the body followed by a hook upstairs for Mendez. Heraldez lands a jab to the body. Mendez misses on a wide right hook at the end of the round. I’ll edge this one to Heraldez. Heraldez 10-9.

Round 8: Mendez lands a left hook to start the round. Now the fighters clash heads, much to Mendez’s dismay. Mendez lands a hard right to the body. Heraldez touches to the body again with a couple of jabs but they don’t seem to have much on them. Check left hook lands for Mendez. Double left hand comes from Heraldez. Mendez leaps in with a left hand but doesn’t ring the range. Hard right hand from Heraldez stuns Mendez! Mendez comes back and looks to get in a good shot in return. Heraldez 10-9, 76-76.

Round 9: Heraldez flicks a half-hearted jab. Heraldez steps forward and tries a jab and straight right hand. Mendez isn’t applying himself in this round and it’s allowing Heraldez to pick his spots to throw and land. Counter right hand lands for Mendez. Mendez misses on a three-punch combination. Jab lands well for Heraldez, who then goes down to the body with some mroe jabs. Hard left lands for Mendez and Heraldez shakes his head at him. Heraldez 10-9.

Round 10: Last round. Mendez starts with a jab that falls short. Jab lands to the body for Heraldez. Mendez misses on a jab and only grazes Heraldez with a straight right. Heraldez doubles up on his jab but the fighters fall into a clinch. Mendez walks forward and lands a good body shot. Mendez misses on a right hand but then scores a hard left hook to the body and Heraldez holds on. Heraldez holds on again as he might’ve been hurt by that shot. Heraldez is on his bicycle now, trying to circle the outside of the ring. Mendez 10-9. I’ve got it a draw, 95-95.
