Sergey Lipinets and John Molina Jr will meet in a welterweight fight on the Pacquiao-Thurman pay-per-view undercard on July 20, according to ESPN.

Lipinets (15-1, 11 KO) is a former titleholder at 140 who lost his title to Mikey Garcia, then moved up to welterweight last August and looked pretty shaky against Erick Bone. But Lipinets, 30, looked good in his last outing, a nice action fight where he stopped and retired Lamont Peterson in an FS1 main event on March 24.

Molina (30-8, 24 KO) is 36 and fighting over his best weights these days, but he’s still game as they come and gave Omar Figueroa Jr a tough fight in defeat on Feb. 16 in a FOX-televised fight.

This may not be the most significant fight to be made at 147, but it does figure to be a good action fight. Neither guy shies away from contact.

The other rumored bouts for the show have included a Julio Cesar Chavez Jr comeback, which obviously would be the only real reason to buy the event, and Nordine Oubaali vs Luis Nery for Oubaali’s WBC bantamweight title.
