Canelo vs Jacobs: Daniel Jacobs says he has the physical advantages to beat Canelo

With yesterday’s final press conference between Canelo Alvarez and Daniel Jacobs giving both fighters a chance to speak their piece to the world, Jacobs makes it known that he’s extremely confident heading into a fight that could see him become a unified middleweight champion.

“My physical advantages in itself can win me the fight, but I also have the mental capacity,” said Jacobs, the bigger, taller, longer man. “I’m in my prime. I’m the only fighter Canelo has faced since Floyd Mayweather [in 2013] to be in his prime. I’m super confident, and I’m going in there with the ability as well.”

Team Canelo didn’t exactly snap back at Jacobs, instead crediting him as being a high quality operator. That said, Canelo’s trainer Eddie Reynoso makes it a point to say that Canelo’s goal is to become the undisputed middleweight champion, and that Jacobs won’t be standing in the way of that for much longer.

But while this just be another main event for Canelo, Jacobs views this as the opportunity of a lifetime, and a chance to prove to the world that he’s unquestionably the best 160-pounder on the planet.
