MTK Global are keeping things busy with their schedule of fights on ESPN+ in the coming weeks and months. They’ve got Ryan Burnett’s return on May 17 in Belfast, Jay Harris vs Angel Moreno for the European flyweight title on June 1 in Cardiff, Tyrone McKenna vs Darragh Foley on June 21 back in Belfast, and now a show set for June 22 in Glasgow.

The Glasgow date will be headlined by Commonwealth bantamweight titleholder Lee McGregor of Edinburgh against Shotts’ Scott Allan in an all-Scotland main event.

22-year-old McGregor (5-0, 5 KO) took the vacant Commonwealth belt last October, knocking out Thomas Essomba in the 12th and final round.

“There’s nothing better than fighting in your home country in front of all the Scottish fans. It’s really dreams coming true type of stuff,” McGregor said. “All of us Scottish fighters want to see each other do well and bring big nights back to Scotland and this is just the start.”

McGregor has been out a good spell as a prospect, and is looking forward to fighting again.

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring. It’s been a long time out but I’ve been training behind the scenes and I’m still learning new things every day so I just can’t wait,” he said. “I know Allan is a strong game opponent. I have never sparred him because apparently I was ‘too scared’! All I can say is that it’s going to be a very interesting fight and I’ll do my talking in the ring on the night.”

Allan (9-3-1, 0 KO) is 3-2 in his last five, winning two straight including a victory last October over then-unbeaten Gary Rae to win the Celtic bantamweight title.
