Boy, Joseph Diaz Jr is having an eventful week, doing his best to make all these pre-fight media events that nobody cares about worth anyone’s attention.
On Tuesday at the Grand Arrivals, his Saturday opponent Freddy Fonseca sort of taunted him during a STAREDOWN, and Diaz said on Twitter after that he would “fuck (Fonseca) up” on Saturday in retaliation.
On Thursday, Diaz and Fonseca were both at the undercard press conference, and during another STAREDOWN, Fonseca put his fist into Diaz’s face, and Diaz responded by shoving Fonseca and getting animated.
And also on Thursday, Diaz found himself in a confrontation with IBF super featherweight titleholder Tevin Farmer:

“You small, you dudes always poppin’ shit — I ain’t gonna do you too dirty, you got a fight coming up,” Farmer says to Diaz.
Someone behind Diaz says to Farmer, “You’re not in Philly,” and Farmer says he doesn’t care, and then there’s lots of yelling and whatnot. Someone behind Diaz touches Farmer, and Farmer doesn’t want to be touched. Then people keep saying “respect.” When Farmer is walking away, Diaz says to him, “You don’t scare me.”
Anyway, expect Farmer-Diaz at some point in the future, probably. Diaz has Fonseca on Saturday but he wants a 130-pound title shot ASAP, while Farmer has a mandatory defense against Guillaume Frenois due next. But after all that, if things are as they are, this is probably the first step in that fight being sold.
