As Gennady Golovkin (38-1-1, 34 KOs) prepares for his June 6 fight against little-known Steve Rolls (19-0, 10 KOs), Fight Hub TV was able to catch some training footage of Golovkin as he works with his new trainer Johnathan Banks.
Golovkin is currently angling for a third fight against Canelo Alvarez in the fall, and doesn’t appear to want to wade too deep in the middleweight waters until he locks down what would be yet another massive windfall.
But for those curious to see what Golovkin is currently looking like under the guidance of a new trainer for the first time in about 10 years, here’s your opportunity. Watch Golovkin go through a mitt routine with Banks, still displaying a lot of snap and accuracy on his punches. Golovkin, now 37 years old, may not have the legs he did several years back, but the man still hits like a truck.
