Jermall Charlo says he’ll call out Canelo Alvarez and Demetrius Andrade one last time

Charlo discusses his upcoming bout with Brandon Adams as he seeks out bigger fights.

Shortly after Jermall Charlo’s press conference, announcing his upcoming fight with Brandon Adams, the WBC’s interim world titleholder shares some of his thoughts about the fight and his plans to call out a couple of other middleweight titleholders in Canelo Alvarez and Demetrius Andrade.

Charlo on his current mindset:

“Man, my mindset is: go get it. You know, I been doing this. They don’t give me the credit that I deserve, so I definitely ain’t finna let nobody like Brandon Adams come in and stop anything that I’ve been having going on. I see him June 29th.”

On if Adams brings anything that he’s worried about to the fight:

“Every fighter got a fighter’s chance. You know, if I don’t com e with my A-game and don’t bring my Ps and Qs then of course I have something to worry about, but if I train and I’m prepared very well there’s nothing I gotta worry about.”

On if he’s on a mission to get a knockout:

“That’s what I do! That’s what I do. Like, you know, I had a couple fights where guys was able to have a style that made it through the fight, but that’s what I do. I know how to finish a fight. I’ve been doing this since I was 8-years-old, I don’t plan on stopping.”

On what he thinks he needs to do to land a fight against champions like Canelo Alvarez and Demetrius Andrade:

“When I finish this fight here, at the NRG, the world will get a chance to see a lot more skillful Jermall Charlo, so we’re gonna definitely call those guys out. We’re gonna ask those guys one more time if they wanna fight, if not I’m gonna go chase somebody else and then they gon’ want more belts. You know, I’ll be three time, division, world champion if that’s what we gotta do.

“They’re running. Why would I be the mandatory for this long? I even got paid step-aside money and I’m still fighting, making my own money, you know what I mean? So look, I’ma just continue to keep doing what I’m doing, I’ma work like I’m Jesús, and it’s going down that way.”
