Andy Ruiz Jr. (32-1, 21 KOs) knows he’s viewed as just another ‘fat boy’ heading into his June 1st fight against unified heavyweight titleholder Anthony Joshua (22-0, 21 KOs), streaming live on DAZN, but he says he’s not letting that perception take him out of his game.

Ruiz, 29, says he fully expects to pull off the upset on Joshua and that his muscular physique won’t make much of a difference when the bell rings.

“He’s a champion of the world,” Ruiz Jr told Sky Sports. “There’s nothing that I can say bad about him, besides that he’s big but you know what, I’m big too and it doesn’t really [matter] how big you are in this game. I’m a big fighter, a combination fighter, so I’m here to win.

“Anthony, don’t underestimate this little fat boy. I’m coming for you, just tune in man, you’re going down.”

Ruiz would continue by saying that he’s extremely excited and blessed for the chance to make history in this fight, and that he’s not taking it lightly as he hasn’t taken any breaks in training. To most others, however, Ruiz is mostly expected to up a strong effort but ultimately come up short in a showcase outing for Joshua’s American debut.
