The May 25th DAZN card formerly headlined by Oleksandr Usyk vs. Carlos Takam will remain both on the air and in Oxon Hill, Maryland, now headlined by Devin Haney’s lightweight matchup with Antonio Moran. Michael Hunter will remain on the card against TBA, as will Croatian prospect Filip Hrgovic against Gregory Corbin.
There were talks of moving the show to Las Vegas after the main event fell through.
Haney (21-0, 13 KO) looks to be the goods at just 20 years old, most recently outclassing former title challenger Juan Carlos Burgos and fellow unbeaten Xolisani Ndongeni in his most recent efforts. He currently finds himself in a WBC eliminator tournament should he get past Moran (24-3, 17 KO) as expected.
The card competes with Terrell Gausha vs. Austin Trout on FS1 and Masayuki Ito vs. Jamel Herring on ESPN. Exactly what boxing needs: spreading its viewership among heaps of mediocre events.
