This morning at 8 am ET streaming live on UFC Fight Pass from Japan, Kazuto Ioka faces Aston Palicte for the vacant WBO super flyweight title.

Ioka (23-2, 13 KO) has won world titles at 105, 108, and 112, and after a brief retirement in 2017, returned last year to chase another belt at 115. He beat McWilliams Arroyo in September, then lost a controversial decision to Donnie Nietes for this same vacant belt, which Nietes has since given up and put back on the market.

Palicte (25-2-1, 21 KO) also fought for this same vacant title last September, also against Nietes, going to a draw in a fight pretty much everyone felt Nietes deserved.

Here’s the tale of the tape:

Given the start time, it appears that only the main event will air, which is because Palicte is an RJJ Boxing fighter and RJJ Boxing have their deal with UFC Fight Pass. This is also the first world title boxing fight in Fight Pass history, so in some sense it’s a historical event.
