If you haven’t heard by now, Andy Ruiz Jr shocked the world with a seventh round TKO of Anthony Joshua, dropping the heavily-favored, previously-unbeaten titleholder four times — twice in the third round, twice in the seventh, after having come off the canvas himself in round three.
Ruiz (33-1, 22 KO) is going to be the toast of boxing for a while, and he’s clearly gonna have a hell of a night in New York. We’re almost certainly headed for a rematch — probably 99% — but for right now, right this moment, Andy Ruiz Jr can lay claim to being the No. 1 heavyweight in the sport. (Listen, I realize not many of you will give him that ranking, but he can say it, and he has a case based on this win.)
Obviously boxing Twitter went bonk shit at the result, just like the rest of us have, and that’s why we’re here, so here are some highlight tweet reactions:

In my opinion @anthonyfjoshua has peaked and has kind of exposed himself. He will never be the same. The heart has shifted. He’s been and still is an imposing guy but again I feel will not ever have same impact. #JoshuaRuiz
