As junior middleweight contender Erickson Lubin (20-1, 15 KOs) looks to work his way back to a world title shot, with a WBC eliminator match against Zakaria Attou (29-6-2, 7 KOs) set for this weekend, Lubin discusses his story and mindset at this point in his career — still only 23-years-old.
Lubin talks about how he got into boxing — being a little too rough for the karate kids — and how competing at this level demands a fighter’s lifestyle.
“What’s that saying by Ali? He said ‘suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion.’ Those are words that I always have in the back of my head because this is what pays us, man...We’re professionals, so we got to act like it.”
