Next week’s DAZN event in Manchester is off after headliner Jack Massey suffered an arm injury. Massey’s opponent, Lawrence Okolie, will now defend his British and Commonwealth cruiserweight titles on the July 20th Dillian Whyte-Oscar Rivas card in Greenwich, while the bout between Brian Rose and late replacement Anthony Fowler will instead take place on August 2nd.
The card had already suffered a blow earlier this week when Felix Cash pulled out of his fight with Jack Cullen, citing a hand injury, so this seems like the correct choice. Refunds are presently available.
On the bright side, this does make the July 20th card a bit more interesting, even if there’s no possible way Eddie Hearn will find a competent opponent for Okolie (12-0, 9 KO). The event already features Richard Riakporhe (9-0, 8 KO) against Chris Billiam-Smith (9-0, 8 KO), Dereck Chisora (30-9, 21 KO) vs. Artur Szpilka (22-3, 15 KO), and the nightmarish spectacle that is Dave Allen (17-4-2, 14 KO) against David Price (24-6, 19 KO)
