Andrade vs Sulecki results: Demetrius Andrade pitches shutout against Maciej Sulecki

Andrade had no issues tonight, easily outboxing Sulecki over 12 rounds.

Matchroom Boxing

WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade (28-0, 17 KOs) dominated tonight in DAZN’s main event, shutting out challenger Maciej Sulecki (28-2, 11 KOs) over 12 rounds of action to retain his world title. All three official judges turned in scores of 120-107 for Andrade, with BLH also scoring the fight a shutout for Andrade, who was just better than Sulecki in every respect.

Andrade came into this fight with an obvious point to prove to his hometown fans, fighting really aggressively and looking to knockout Sulecki out early. Andrade would drop Sulecki in the first round, and continued to come forward — almost wildly at times — looking to land some more big shots.

After that first round Andrade’s father/trainer told him that they didn’t want a war, just to outbox Sulecki, and that’s exactly what Andrade did. Andrade would go on to dominate the reminder of the fight from outside, with Sulecki unable to land more than seven punches in any single round over the duration. Sulecki was just in over his head as Andrade was just too athletic and slick for Sulecki to deal with. Of course once Andrade started cruising, the action slowed down tremendously, which probably didn’t earn him many more fans.

In the post-fight interview Andrade called out Canelo Alvarez several times, saying that’s for sure the fight he wants next. We’ll see if that goes anywhere.

Final CompuBox stats had Andrade landing 133 of 496 total punches (26.8 %), while Sulecki landed only 51 of 331 total punches (15.4%).
