Top Stories
The rankings got updated on Tuesday and as I imagined, there was a whole to-do about the heavyweight rankings. I’ve got it Fury-Wilder-Ruiz at the top for now. Some folks disagree. Some folks agree. Some folks couldn’t care less.
The biggest story of the day is that Andy Ruiz Jr and Anthony Joshua are headed for an immediate rematch, as Joshua’s team triggered the rematch clause and Eddie Hearn says the fight will take place in November or December. It’s a wild world, but Ruiz-Joshua II is really one of the biggest fights in the sport you can do right now. The wonder now is exact date and where it will be held. Based on prior comments, you can expect Hearn and Co. to push for the UK, but DAZN may push for the US, since it would be in primetime here instead of the afternoon. Ruiz has said he wants it in Mexico, which seems really unlikely.

- Zab Judah is back on Friday, and the fight will be streamed via FITE PPV for $14.99. He’s taking on Cletus Seldin in what I really, honestly believe will be a fun or bizarre fight, one of the two. Judah says he’s hunting for another title shot at 140.
- Tomorrow, we’ll have previews for this weekend’s three main events: Golovkin-Rolls at Noon ET, Valdez-Sanchez at 4 pm ET, and Judah-Seldin at 8 pm ET.
- Two IBF eliminators are officially official for July 19 on ESPN: Teofimo Lopez vs Masayoshi Nakatani at 135, and Maxim Dadashev vs Subriel Matias at 140.
- The June 15 WBSS semifinal fight between Mairis Briedis and Krzysztof Glowacki will be for the vacant WBC cruiserweight title, most recently held by Oleksandr Usyk. This is a good move.
- Nordine Oubaali has his opponent for his July 6 WBC bantamweight title defense in Kazakhstan, as he’ll face Arthur Villanueva.
