As WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (33-3-1, 28 KOs) gets set to defend his strap against British challenger Anthony Yarde (18-0, 17 KOs) this Saturday night in Russia, the two fighters held their final press conference announcing their fight.

“It looks like a very nice city,” Yarde said. “I’ve been treated well, very polite people, and I’m just here to do a job. I haven’t done no trash talking...I don’t do no trash talking. I posted pictures — to me they’re good pictures. I’m a fighter, that’s what I’m meant to visualize. I’m meant to see these things in my mind. Same way Kovalev probably sees things in his mind...I posted a picture that I saw that a fan made. So when I saw this picture, I reposted it because that’s what’s gonna happen...”

When Kovalev took some time to speak, he mostly spoke in Russian before fielding some media questions. When asked if he was surprised by how confident Yarde is going into this fight, Kovalev said:

“No, it’s regular for boxers...He thinks he wants to knock me out but sadly we’ll show to everybody what will be, exactly.”
