WBA super middleweight champion Callum Smith (26-0, 19 KOs) has become something of a hot commodity lately, and it’s providing him with some good options for notable fights.

Smith’s name has already been linked to at least one potential fight against Billy Joe Saunders, who just recently signed with Matchroom — which is also a fight Eddie Hearn would like to stage at some point. But Smith’s trainer Joe Gallagher says they’re more interested in taking on the top fighters based out of the U.S. first.

“Callum has a few lucrative offers on the table. He is considering them because they could lead to big fights. His head has been turned.

“We’re now waiting to see what Eddie can offer Callum. Callum wants big-name US-based fighters like Sergey Kovalev, Canelo, David Benavidez and Caleb Plant.”

Kovalev is currently thought to be in line to take on Canelo Alvarez next, so assuming that’s out for the time being Smith could target a unification bout against Plant or Bendavidez (assuming Benavidez comes through his September fight against Anthony Dirrell with the WBC title).

Who would you most like to see Smith take on next?
