Floyd Mayweather announces he’s working on Manny Pacquiao exhibition fight in Japan

Color me skeptical...

Maybe it’s just been too long since he’s made headlines but Floyd Mayweather just took to social media earlier today to make the announcement that he’s currently working on putting together a rematch with Manny Pacquiao — in exhibition form — which would be held in Tokyo, Japan.

If Mayweather and Pacquiao were to ever fight again, which I’m sure would draw some mixed responses, why in the hell would it be in an exhibition match?! Quite honestly, I doubt Pacquiao will come out to confirm this “news” as it’s been presented by Floyd here.

It’s also quite possible that all this just amounts to some bullshit though, which is where I’m currently leaning. Mayweather has made these sort of announcements regarding a Pacquiao rematch before on social media, only to later gloat about how he was paid some absurd amount just to post the videos. And given how prominent the advertising is in this video, it certainly wouldn’t surprise me if this was just another hollow cash grab.

Mayweather first took on Pacquiao in a 2015 fight that wound up being the richest fight in boxing history. And while a potential rematch was often touted as a possibility, it obviously has never materialized, though would still likely be a big money-maker if it ever did come together.
