Andre Ward gives early thoughts on Canelo Alvarez vs Sergey Kovalev

Ward says he favors Canelo if the fight goes into the second half.

In this short interview with Fight Hub TV, Andre Ward puts his analyst hat on and give his early thoughts on the upcoming fight between Canelo Alvarez and Sergey Kovalev.

Ward on Canelo-Kovalev:

“I don’t know yet. It’s a lot of variables, man. How heavy is Canelo gonna come in? Is he gonna try to come in too heavy because he’s concerned about the extra weight of Kovalev or is he stay somewhat light to stay faster?

“How [Canelo’s] knee? He’s got a bad knee, I know all about that. What does Kovalev have left? How’s Canelo gonna get through the range of Kovalev for the first six rounds? If it goes past six, I like Canelo.

“So it’s a lot of variables, man. Again, like I told you guys a few seconds ago, I’m not trying to be the first to predict or say certain things. I try to measure twice and cut once. I don’t try to be the first so I really don’t know, there’s a lot of variables that I’m trying to process right now, but it’s gonna be a good fight, I know that.

“I can see Canelo [smirks]...nah, I ain’t doing that, man...I’ll know come fight time, though.”
