Sergio Mora on Canelo Alvarez vs Sergey Kovalev: Andre Ward took the tough guy out of Kovalev

The former fighter shares some of his early thoughts on the intriguing matchup.

Fight Hub TV catches up with Sergio Mora to get some of his thoughts on the impending light heavyweight title fight between Sergey Kovalev and Canelo Alvarez. Check out what he had to say on the fight.

Mora on Canelo-Kovalev:

“I think Canelo’s taking a calculated risk at the right time. Kovalev, you know, we saw what happened when you got hit to the body by Andre Ward. Andre Ward took the tough guy out of him. You know, he doesn’t have that crushing reputation anymore. You know, he almost got beat in his last fight too, and Canelo, maybe fighting Rocky Fielding, maybe set him up to fight bigger fighters and Daniel Jacobs is a big middleweight too — just as big as Kovalev. So maybe he’s preparing to fight bigger fighters.”

On what he makes of the KSI-Logan Paul show:

“If it’s gonna bring new eyes to boxing, I’m all for it. If they’re gonna pack the Staples Center with 20,000, 18,000 people, and then on the undercard they’re gonna see some real professional boxers, I’m all for it. Any new fans, I’m for it. And obviously this is an entertainment business.”
