Canelo Alvarez is set to challenge light heavyweight titleholder Sergey Kovalev on November 2nd, but you can watch the fighters come face-to-face now as they face off during their opening press conference held in Los Angeles.
To no one’s surprise, Kovalev can be seen with the obvious height advantage over Canelo, but Canelo has a the sturdier frame which makes this fight intriguing. Canelo has made it no secret that he’s a good body puncher and will be looking to test Kovalev down to the body where he’s been most vulnerable, but there are some questions if Canelo can get past Kovalev’s jab and whether or not his power will translate to 175.
All of those questions will be answered this fall, on Nov. 2, but until then we’ll just have to break it all down from what we’ve seen and speculate as best we can. The fighters themselves appear to be up for the battle, and even have a jovial demeanor about it all as they share a friendly embrace for the cameras. But once the bell rings, there are no friends...
