Keith Thurman looking for rematch with Manny Pacquiao

Thuman says he expects to be back in the ring by next summer.

In this video interview caught by Fight Hub, former welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman shares some thoughts on when he’ll be back in the ring as well as some rumored and upcoming fights. Check it out...

Thurman on when he expects to return to action following hand surgery:

“About June [2020], probably. Late May, June.

“You know who I want. You should know who I want. I want that rematch, baby. That’s all I really want. We’ll see what happens, though.”

On Mikey Garcia having his name attached to a potential Pacquiao fight:

“I think that’s not a bad opponent for Pacquiao. You know, he has to tread lightly amongst this welterweight division. There’s a lot of dogs in this division. He knows he was in a dogfight even though he stepped away with my belt. It’s okay. He knows he was in a dogfight. And if he wanna go up against more young dogs like Shawn Porter, Errol Spence, Keith Thurman rematch — I think every single one of those are dangerous.

“So Mikey Garcia might be the least dangerous and still respectable opponent, and still young, strong and hungry so we’ll see what happens, man.”

On what he would do differently in a rematch with Pacquiao:

“Maybe utilizing a little bit of my movement more, set up my counters. He didn’t like when I boxed, and just head movement, just small things that I saw frustrate him and certain openings I didn’t take advantage of in the moment. If I had a second chance I wouldn’t hesitate, and, you know, AKA there will be some uppercuts.”

On his prediction for Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter:

“Spence, you know, late rounds to all 12 rounds. I just think Spence wins the fight, man. But I would love for Porter to show us something different, to show us why he’s been champion multiple times. Styles make fights. He’s not Kell Brook. We’ll see, man. I think body shots are going to matter in this fight, I expect both to be going at the body. And I think dominance will pretty much be presented in the first four rounds.”
