Errol Spence Jr had to dig deeper than ever before tonight, grinding it out against a relentless Shawn Porter to unify the IBF and WBC welterweight titles by split decision.
Spence (26-0, 21 KO) further established himself as one of the top 147-pound fighters in the world — and one of the best pound-for-pound, if you’re into that — while Porter (30-3-1, 17 KO) once again proved that nobody is going to have an easy night against him, no matter what.
Pretty much all the fans and media across the board have been united in declaring this one of the best fights of the year, and one that was even a little tough to score, with both men doing good work in their own way, and each showing a ton of heart and determination.
The pros on social media all pretty much agree, too: this was a hell of a fight, and one worth remembering.
Here’s what some of them had to say on Twitter:

What a fight! I don’t think there is anyone on the planet that can convincingly ever beat Shawn Porter. And I don’t believe there is anyone who won’t agree that Spence is not P4P “The Truth.” #SpencePorter— Sergio Mora (@TheLatinSnake_) September 29, 2019
