Friday, Sept. 13
ESPN+, 3:00 pm ET, Top Rank fight announcement press conference. Top Rank will be officially announcing its slate of fights for the autumn.
DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, Devin Haney vs Zaur Abdullaev, Heather Hardy vs Amanda Serrano, Michael Hunter vs Sergey Kuzmin. It was obviously better when the show had Roman-Akhmadaliev, but it’s still a solid, Matchroom-style card on DAZN. Haney-Abdullaev is a WBC eliminator at 135, Hardy-Serrano is for a featherweight title, and Hunter-Kuzmin is just a nice heavyweight matchup between two guys looking to be seen as legit contenders. BLH will have live coverage.
Saturday, Sept. 14
ESPN+, 3:00 pm ET, Sunny Edwards vs Hugo Guarneros, Brad Foster vs Lucien Reid. Edwards, the younger brother of Charlie, is moving down to flyweight in search of glory. He’s a very skilled boxer with potential world-level ability. Foster-Reid is for the British 122-pound title. BLH will have live coverage.
DAZN, 7:00 pm ET, Jaime Munguia vs Patrick Allotey, Ryan Garcia vs Avery Sparrow. Garcia-Sparrow is the more interesting fight here, a hyped prospect against a guy who might be a really tricky test. Munguia is defending his 154-pound belt and hoping a big performance against a limited foe will erase the memory of his performance against Dennis Hogan. This will be more a shadow coverage than full coverage, but there will be a thread and updates and all that. It’s just our attention will be mainly on the Fury-Wallin card once the main fights there go live, though if we get lucky, this show could conceivably end by then. Maybe. It will also feature Franchon Crews-Dezurn defending her WBC super middleweight title against Alejandra Jimenez, and the always-exciting Romero Duno in action. BLH will have live coverage.
ESPN+, 7:30 pm ET, Fury vs Wallin prelims. Top super featherweight prospect Gabriel Flores Jr will be part of the prelim action. BLH will have live coverage.
ESPN+, 11:00 pm ET, Tyson Fury vs Otto Wallin, Emanuel Navarrete vs Juan Miguel Elorde, Jose Pedraza vs Jose Zepeda. It looks like it’ll be three main card fights starting late on ESPN+, with Fury-Wallin headlining, Navarrete defending his 122-pound title against another on-paper no-hoper, and Pedraza-Zepeda, which could be interesting. BLH will have live coverage.
