Danny Garcia vs Ivan Redkach
Round 1: Redkach presses forward and misses on a weak jab to the body. Garcia counters the next jab to the body with one to the head. Straight right hand lands downstairs for Garcia. Another right hand lands to the body for Garcia. Hard shots from Garcia noticeably have a bigger effect on Redkach. Garcia misses on a wide right hook lead. Straight left to the body makes contact for Redkach. Another body shot scores for Redkach but Garcia gets one right back. Both figters get their feet tangled up and Garcia stumbles into the ropes. Right hand lands upstairs for Garcia just before the bell. Garcia 10-9.
Round 2: Double jab from Garcia doesn’t find the mark. Redkach misses on a jab upstairs himself. Right hook lands to the body for Garcia. Straight right lands down the pipe for Garica, who then misses on a wide right hook. Straight left lands to the body for Redkach. Redkach tries a jab to the body but takes a counter from Garcia. Redkach lands a grazing left hook to the head. Straight right lands to the body for Garcia, then a left hook downstairs just seconds later. Redkach partially lands a long left just before the bell. Round 3: Garcia falls short ona jab to start the round. Garcia tries a lead right this time that doesn’t land clean. Redkach presses forward and looks for a left to the body but Garcia lands one in return that backs Redkach off. Straight left scores to the body for Redkach. Garcia starts pressing now and just misses on a left hook. Garcia touches the body with a jab. Redkach tries to touch the body again with a jab. Slow fight with very little action but it’s obvious Garcia’s doing more damage. Garcia 10-9.
Round 4: Garcia looks to find a home for a big right hand to the body that falls a little short. Redkach uses his herky-jerky movement to make things awkward but Garcia gets off first and strafes the body with a right hand. Clean counter left hook lands hard for Garcia. Garcia tries another right hook to the body. Double right hand comes from Garcia. Garcia lands a short combination on Redkach. Redkach is breathing pretty hard and feeling the shots from Garcia. More body shots land for Garcia and Redkach snarls at him. Right hand lands upstairs for Garcia now. Garcia is landing more now as Redkach is fading and can’t get out of the way much anymore. Garcia 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: Garcia tries a measured jab and soon ends up in a clinch with Redkach. Garcia tries a lead right that doesn’t quite find the mark. Now Garcia lands a clean double jab at center ring, then a left hook moments later. Garcia counters a Redkach shot with a left hook again. Garcia lands a straight right to the body. Garcia doubles up on a left hook this time and makes some good contact. Redkach misses on a shot and immediately goes for a hole — a clear sign on distress. Right hook lands upstairs for Garcia with Redkach on the ropes. Redkach gets in a shot as Garcia comes forward but can’t keep Garcia off. Garcia 10-9.
Round 6: Right hand lands to the body for Garcia and Garcia is warned for it straying low. Combination lands to the body for Garcia this time. Garcia misses on a straight right but lands a follow up right hook to the body. Straight right to the head lands this time for Garcia. Both fighters trade at center ring. Redkach lands a straight left to the body. Garcia goes back down to the body with two right hands. Another right hand from Garcia gets in up top. Garcia 10-9, 60-54.
Round 7: Straight left lands to the body for Redkach. Now Garcia goes to the body with his own straight right. Redkach misses on two jabs aimed at the head. Straight right goes to the body for Garcia again. Double right makes a little contact or Garcia. Redkach steps into a Garcia uppercut which momentarily stuns him. Garcia times a straight right counter that knocks Redkach back. Another right hand lands clean for Garcia upstairs, then another. Redkach is bleeding from his left eye and that side of his face is bruised up. Garcia 10-9.
Round 8: Straight right followed by a left lands for Garcia. Garcia lands a left hook now and Redkach grabs hold. Low shot lands for Garcia but he doesn’t get a warning this time. Right hand from Garcia lands upstairs. Right hand gets in for Garcia during a follow up exchange. Three more punches come from Garcia and Redkach holds again. Garcia throws more punches and Redkach basically can’t do much but try to cover up and hope for the best. Straight left lands to the body for Redkach as he taunts Garcia to keep throwing. Instead Garcia gets on his toes and steps back as he lets some punishment soak in on Redkach. Right hand lead scores for Garcia yet again. Garcia 10-9, 80-72.
Round 9: Doctor examines Redkach before we start the round and she says it’s okay to continue. Garcia comes out with a big right hook that doesn’t find a home. Left hook lands upstairs for Garcia, then a right hand. Straight right lands for Garcia again, then another. Redkach has been beaten into submission for the most part and there’s no reason for this fight to continue at this point. Garcia is just strafing Redkach before Redkach gets in a clean jab. Straight right followed by a left hook lands clean for Garcia. Redkach can’t get out the way of the straight right hand anymore. Now Garcia lands a right hand to the body. Right hook lands clean for Garcia and Redkach takes it. Garcia 10-9.
Round 10: Turns out Redkach bit Garcia during a clinch in the 8th round — which the referee didn’t see — and an upset Angel Garcia urges Danny to ‘fuck him up for that!’ Redkach throws a weak jab to the body and then takes a right hand from Garcia. Garcia throws a left hand upstairs which makes good contact. Right hand lands upstairs for Garcia again. Straight left lands to the body for Redkach. Redkach misses on the next left hand aimed at the body. Straight right hand to the body grazes Redkach. Redkach lands a straight left to the body. Garcia pops a jab and then moves off the line. Counter right lands for Garcia. Garcia wings another right hook just before the bell. Garcia 10-9, 100-90.
Round 11: Garcia steps forward and throws a couple jabs. Garcia misses on a counter right before falling into a clinch. Straight left lands to the body for Redkach. Garcia tries to dig the body with a right uppercut. Redkach throws a straight left to the body a couple of times and makes good contact. Right hand from Garcia grazes Redkach upstairs. Redkach lands another left to the body. Right hook from Garcia makes contact upstairs. Redkach goes back to the body again with a straight left. Redkach 10-9.
Round 12: Garcia misses on a jab to start the round. Garcia gets in a right and left hand upstairs. Counter right hand lands clean for Garcia. Two chopping shots from Redkach glance off Garcia. Straight left hand makes partial contact to the body. Right hook from Redkach hits Garcia’s shoulder. Clean left hand gets in upstairs for Redkach. Garcia is either tired or content to take a knee on this fight because he’s barely thrown in the last couple of rounds. Garcia stands and lands a couple of clean counters at center ring once he hears some boos. Clean straight right hand lands for Garcia, then another one at the bell. Garcia 10-9, 119-109.
Jarrett Hurd vs Francisco Santana
Round 1: Hurd takes center ring and throws a couple of jabs but looks to keep his distance. Jab from Hurd lands upstairs, then another one. Another clean jab lands for Hurd, then two more. Hurd is clearly fighting in a different style as he’s deliberate about boxing and moving around the ring. Santana follows Hurd around but can’t find the range on any punches. Jab lands again for Hurd. Hurd throws four jabs in succession and then steps to the side along the ropes. Santana comes forward and throws a couple punches with Hurd in the corner but he doesn’t seem to make a dent. Hurd 10-9.
Round 2: Hurd works his jab to start the round and lands a couple. Jab lands twice for Hurd again, who then just barely misses on a big left uppercut. Hurd throws more jabs as Santana walks right forward into them. Hurd pops another jab and steps to the side, then repeats. Santana comes in and throws a few punches that don’t land clean. Props to Hurd for finding a new style tailored to longevity, but this isn’t the Hurd we’ve come to love. Hurd 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Santana tries to press forward and Hurd meets him with a few jabs before looking to find a home for a right uppercut. More jabs come from Hurd one after another as Santana covers up and ducks. Santana throws two weak body punches that don’t land. Hurd slips a few shots from Santana and then lays down a right hook. More jabs come from Hurd and very few power punches. Luckily Hurd has the dimensions in this matchup to win the fight with his jab alone. Hurd 10-9.
Round 4: Two jabs come from Hurd to start the round, then a couple more as Hurd tries to move off to the side. Santana presses Hurd to the ropes because he’s laying back so much but Santana still can’t mount any successful offensive assault. Right hand from Hurd falls just short. Hurd throws two more jabs and then throws a right as Santana throws a shot of his own. Jab lands clean for Hurd, then another. Even more jabs come from Hurd, followed by a rare left to the body. Hurd is cruising by boxing — imagine that. Hurd 10-9, 40-36.
Round 5: Hurd throws a couple shots as Santana covers up. Santana misses on a right hand over the top. Hurd covers up and then times a right hand that moves Santana. Straight right hand lands clean for Hurd, then another moments later. Now Hurd lands a left to the body as Santana tries to stand in close and make it a dust up. Hurd is standing his ground in this round and looking to roll and counter. Right uppercut lands for Hurd, then a hard left hook. Jab and left hook lands for Hurd. Now this is the Hurd I know. Hurd lands a left to the body and then steps after Santana and lands a couple more clean shots. I think the end is near for Santana. Hurd 10-9.
Round 6: Jab lands clean for Hurd. Hurd jabs and steps back again as he looks like he’s going back to boxing in this round. Two more jabs come from Hurd upstairs as Santana walks forward. Hurd is on the back foot and looking to work off his jab. Santana lands his own jab uptairs. Right hand partially lands for Santana. Hurd misses on a quick three punches. Hurd ducks a big hook from Santana. Left hook from Hurd makes solid contact as he spins out. Santana throws a combination but doesn’t land anything well. Hurd 10-9 in a needlessly boring round. Hurd 10-9, 60-54.
Round 7: Hurd starts off moving backwards and allows Santana to walk right up on him. Now Hurd is on the ropes and lands a counter before getting position back towards center ring. Clean jab lands upstairs for Hurd and snaps Santana’s head back. Three quick punches come from Hurd before he lets go on a hard left to the body. Clean right hand lands upstairs for Hurd. Hurd jabs and moves back and this fight more closely resembles a sparring session as he won’t impose himself as he looks to enact this vision of becoming a master craftsman. Fans in the crowd are booing loudly now. Santana throws more ineffective punches but no one is entertained. Hurd 10-9.
Round 8: Hurd still moving backward and using his jab to neutralize a noticeably smaller welterweight. Hurd looking for space to run more than he’s looking to do damage. This is the kind of work that should happen in a gym and not on television. Hurd puts himself on the ropes and leans back and Hurd isn’t throwing much of anything as he just covers up. Now Hurd jabs and Santana comes forward and throws what he can even if he can’t do much with Hurd physically. More boos come from the crowd because everyone can tell Hurd is stinking this up. More hooks come from Santana. I’m going to give this one to Santana because Hurd did fuck all here. Santana 10-9.
Round 9: Hurd starts to unload to start this round as he is finally looking to pick it up and put us all out of our misery. Santana tries an uppercut on the inside but misses. Hurd rolls on the inside and lands a clean shot that makes Santana lean on him. Right hand lands over the top for Santana. Right hand lands for Hurd along the ropes. Hurd leads with another right hand and makes some contact. The crowd continues to boo Hurd’s performance. Hurd touches and goes as he starts moving around the ring to end the round. Hurd 10-9.
Round 10: Last round, thank God. I can’t believe Showtime paid to air this Hurd training session. Jab comes from Hurd and after he lands it he runs to the opposite side of the ring. Hurd moves around the outside of the ring even more and tries to land his jab where he can. More boos from the crowd. Hurd throws a couple and then covers up as Santana returns fire with punches that can’t affect the bigger Hurd. Two clean shots land for Hurd upstairs. The Showtime cast is making excuses on air about how Hurd’s new style is to protect his future. Flurry comes from Santana, then a left hook upstairs. Double left hooks come from Hurd, then another and another until Santana finally wobbles and hits the deck. Santana gets up right in time for the final bell. Hurd 10-8, 99-90.
Stephen Fulton vs Arnold Khegai
Round 1: Fulton misses on a jab upstairs. Khegai tries to jab to the body but doesn’t land it clean. Fulton works the jab again as he slowly circles to his left. Now Fulton land a clean jab before stepping off the line. Two clean body shots land well for Khegai. Jab from Khegai misses downstairs. Fulton throws a lead left hook that makes partial contact. Fulton throws two more jabs that don’t land but make Khegai take a half-step back. Fulton sticks a straight right to the body and Khegai gets one back himself. Clean jab lands straight down the pipe for Fulton, then a left hook has he pivots out. Check left hook lands pretty well again for Fulton. Late charge from Khegai but he doesn’t really land anything. Fulton 10-9 but Khegai already shows he’s looking to take this fight to the deep waters.
Round 2: Khegai comes out pressing but ends up walking into a couple of jabs from Fulton. Khegai comes forward and Fulton goes for the tie up right away. Khegai misses on two mig right hands, but then touches Fulton to the body. Right hook lands to the body after two jabs upstairs. Khegai tries a double jab to the body but doesn’t make much contact. Clean jab lands upstairs for Fulton, who then steps over and looks to reset. A couple short body shots land in close for Khegai but Fulton ties him up before he can do any real damage. More jabs come from Fulton that score. Hard right to the body lands for Khegai this time. Khegai misses on a lead left hook. Fulton 10-9, 20-18.
Round 3: Khegai comes out to center ring and leaps in with a left hook that makes solid contact. Khegai presses behind a double jab but Fulton has the foot speed to step out of range. Check left hook lands for Fulton. Khegai tries to work his jab but he’s hitting a lot of air. Now Khegai makes a little contact but Fulton comes back with another check hook of the ropes. Three jabs come from Fulton that land on Khegai’s face. Khegai tries to retaliate with a charge but can’t get in many clean shots. Khegai straight body slams Fulton when they get tangled up! Referee gives Khegai a stern warning about it. Khegai steps in and Fulton misses on two counter shots. I think Fulton wins the round but I think Khegai is starting to wear on him. Fulton 10-9.
Round 4: Khegai comes in and look sto jab to the body and then backs Fulton right to the ropes. Hard left hook lands clean for Khegai. Khegai has closed the distance on Fulton and now he has Fulton fighting off the ropes a lot more often. Khegai comes forward with two punches that back Fulton off. Right hand lands over the top for Khegai, who is having a much better round. Another right hand lands for Khegai as Fulton is on the ropes. Fulton is clearly the better boxer of the two but Fulton doesn’t have to power to really keep Khegai from coming forward on him which might be a problem for Fulton later on. Right hand lands to the body for Khegai. Fulton partially lands a check hook. Another right hand lead lands over the top for Khegai. Fulton tells Khegai to come on as he’s in the corner and Khegai obliges and strafes him with a couple shots. Good round for Khegai. Khegai 10-9, 37-39.
Round 5: Khegai comes out to center ring and throws a jab upstairs and downstairs. Hard left hook lands well for Khegai. Khegai eats a shot from Fulton but it doesn’t even phase him. Fulton’s lack of power is going to be a real issue because he can’t get Khegai’s respect. Fulton rattles off a combination and Khegai stands his ground and doesn’t budge an inch. Khegai instead comes forward and lands a shot of his own. Right hand lands upstairs for Khegai as Fulton lands a body shot. Fulton is on the ropes or in the corner way too often. Fulton throws a jab upstairs and then steps over. Khegai tries to maul Fulton in the opposite corner now. Right hand lands to the body for Fulton, then a right upstairs. Now Fulton lands a left hook to the body, then two more body shots. Fulton 10-9.
Round 6: Both fighters fall a little short on shots but then Fulton lands a clean left uppercut right on Khegai’s chin and looks to see if he has him hurt — he doesn’t. Fulton throws a hard body shot and immediately holds so Khegai can’t throw back. Now Khegai pushes Fulton to the corner and throws a few shots that make some good contact. Fulton gets back to the jab and then tries to move as Khegai ttries to line up a right hand counter. Left hook and a chopping right land for Khegai. Another left hook lands upstairs for Khegai. Three jabs come from Fulton who then steps off the ropes. Fulton 10-9, 59-55.
Round 7: Fulton works his jab and then quickly grabs hold of Khegai once he gets inside. Nice combination comes from Fulton, who lands body shots on both sides. Jab lands to the body for Khegai now. Fulton rattles off three quick punches as Khegai covers up. Right uppercut lands for Fulton who then smothers Khegai on the inside. Khegai gets some punches off while leaning on Fulton on the ropes and lands a few. Fulton walks Khegai into three punches as Khegai covers up again. Lead left hook misses for Khegai. Clean right hand lands for Fulton following a jab. Now Fulton jumps in with a lead left hook as he’s getting a little rhythm. Fulton 10-9.
Round 8: Khegai falls short on a jab upstairs. Fulton responds with several jabs which do much better. Jab lands to the body for Khegai but Fulton manages to duck most of Khegai’s big power shots in the corner. Check hook lands for Fulton. Fulton throws three quick punches and he’s outworking Khegai, who’s pace has slowed. Right hand lands for Fulton, then a clean jab. Two clean body shots land for Fulton. Nice left hook lands to the body for Fulton and stuns Khegai momentarily even though Fulton might not have noticed. Fulton 10-9, 79-73.
Round 9: Double jab comes from Khegai and Fulton counters with one of his own. Left hook lead lands for Fulton. Now Khegai lands a right hand lead but Fulton tries to walk through it but Khegai turns him back towards the ropes but can’t take advantage. Right hand from Khegai falls short this time. Now Khegai throws a punch behind the head and gets a warning from the referee about that too. Fulton throws a couple of quick shots that make partial contact. Fulton misses on a big right hook now just before the bell. Fulton 10-9.
Round 10: Both fighters exchange punches to start the round. Now Fulton throws a series of jabs that back Khegai is showing signs of fatigue in his body language. Clean right hand lands for Fulton after another uppercut. Khegai misses on two jabs upstairs. Fulton comes back with a couple of punches and touches Khegai with his jab. Left hand from Fulton lands clean upstairs. Fulton throws a combination ending to the body. Right hand lands for Khegai this time. Fulton gets back on the jab and then circles out. Fulton 10-9, 99-91.
Round 11: Khegai partially lands a jab. Fulton tries to counter using his own jab. Right hand lead misses for Khegai. Jab lands clean for Fulton, then another. Khegai smiles and then comes back with a series of hooks and manages to land a couple. Double jab comes from Fulton again. Right hand lead misses again for Khegai. Left hook from Khegai glances off Fulton’s head. Khegai continues to come forward and throw shots and he’s got Fulton on the defensive. Khegai mauls Fulton some more until the bell. Khegai 10-9.
Round 12: Fulton sticks a jab and then steps back and looks for a counter opportunity that doesn’t come. Left hand lands for Khegai that puts Fulton on the ropes. Fulton lands a right hand lead and then steps away from Khegai. Jab lands for Fulton. Another right hand lead lands well for Fulton, then another moments later. Fulton lands a clean jab upstairs and then goes for a jog to the other side of the ring. Right hand counter lands again for Fulton as Khegai tries to come forward. Khegai misses on a wide right hook aimed at the head. Sharp jab lannds for Fulton. Fulton 10-9, 118-110.

Garcia and Hurd will be heavy favorites against Ivan Redkach and Francisco Santana, respectively, and the biggest intrigue is with the opener, pitting Stephen Fulton and Arnold Khegai in a WBO eliminator.
