In this video interview with Fight Hype, Regis Prograis tells a quick story of a dream he had about a Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence fight and then breaks down how he views the matchup. He also let’s it be known that a fight against Crawford is one he’s wanted himself for some time now.
Prograis on his dream about Spence-Crawford:
“I had a dream that they finally fought and Errol Spence knocked out Terence Crawford, like bad. Like bad. It was like he couldn’t get up. I don’t remember the round — it was from an uppercut too. He was just wearing him down, beating the shit out of him, hit him with a fuckin’ uppercut and I think an overhand left or something and he was out. He was on the ground, he was out-out.
“I don’t know how true my dreams is, but I had a dream (Spence) stopped (Crawford).”
On how he would break down a Spence-Crawford matchup:
“It depends on how healthy Errol is. That’s the thing. You know, Errol, he had that car wreck and shit like that, and they saying he fine but to be honest, he ain’t look 100% when he was on TV...He looked big as shit — of course he always look big — he just ain’t look 100%, it looked like something was a little off with him.”
On how he’d breakdown that fight assuming Spence was at 100%:
“100%? I still got Errol but I think it’s close. I think it’s close but Crawford is a beast, don’t get me wrong, his boxing skills I think is definitely better than Errol, but Errol is just so big and he a pressure fighter and he gonna come forward and Terence Crawford do sometime get hit with big punches — big, clean, flush punches. And if he get hit like that by Errol, I think it’s gonna be a different story.
“That last dude he fought (Kavaliauskas), he hit him with some big shit....Imagine if Errol hit him with that same punch. I don’t know. But at the same time, Crawford got the style to beat Errol too because he a mover, he know how to switch...If he get caught by Errol, by that big shit, my dream might come true.
“(Spence) is the biggest puncher at that weight. At 147 he definitely the strongest, the biggest puncher. So if he get hit by him, I don’t know...”
On wanting a fight against Crawford himself:
“Of course. Yeah. I been wanting to fight Crawford. For sure.”
