Saturday’s DAZN show in Peterborough has lost its only title fight. Savannah Marshall, who was set to challenge Hannah Rankin for the vacant WBO middleweight belt formerly held by Claressa Shields, is out after trainer Peter Fury tested positive for COVID.
It’s very regrettable that’s it tested positive for Covid-19. Good news @Savmarshall1 tested negative. However due to the restrictions around a positive test, everyone must quarantine for 14 days. But #to reschedule ASAP@MatchroomBoxing @EddieHearn @MTKGlobal @HennessySports

In case the Tweets aren’t showing up for you, the relevant parties intend to reschedule the match “ASAP.” Marshall (8-0, 6 KO) herself thankfully tested negative.
The 30-year-old Marshall has ended her last three fights inside the distance, though never against anyone of note. Countrywoman Rankin (9-4, 2 KO), who fell to the aforementioned Shields in a 2018 vacant WBC title fight, is 4-1 in her last five.
The rest of the show remains intact. Lewis Ritson faces ever-tricky veteran Miguel Vazquez in the main event, while unbeaten super bantamweight Thomas Patrick Ward takes on dangerous spoiler Thomas Essomba and fan-favorite welterweight Joe Laws squares off against Ryan Charlton.
