We’re just about 24 hours from fight night, as Vasiliy Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez are now 100 percent set for their Saturday night ESPN main event, with both lightweight titlists making weight for their three-belt unification bout.
Lopez (15-0, 12 KO) stepped on the scales first and looked fit at 135 pounds, right on the limit. Lomachenko (14-1, 10 KO) was up next, and came in at 135, as well.
How to Watch Lomachenko vs Lopez
Date: Saturday, Oct. 17 | Start Time: 10:00 pm ET (Main Card) / 7:30 pm ET (Prelims)
Location: MGM Top Rank Bubble, Las Vegas, NV
TV: ESPN (Main Card) | Stream: ESPN+ (Prelims)
The main event weigh-ins and face off, which broke social distancing rules and all that but in this specific instance it probably doesn’t matter that much because they’re going to be in a ring with no masks fighting and breathing on each other tomorrow night anyway, starts about 21 minutes into the video:
Also on the main card, Alex Saucedo (30-1, 19 KO) will face Arnold Barboza Jr (24-0, 10 KO) in a pivotal 10-round junior welterweight clash. Both fighters weighed in at 140 on the nose, right at the limit.
In the main card opener, Edgar Berlanga (14-0, 14 KO) looks to continue his career-long first round KO streak against veteran Lanell Bellows (20-5-3, 13 KO) in an eight-round super middleweight fight. Berlanga weighed in at 169½ initially, then had to strip down and got to 169, which is the contract weight. Bellows came in at 169.
