Eddie Hearn has some good news and some bad news. The good news is that Carlos Cuadras, one of two fighters on this upcoming Friday’s Matchroom tripleheader to test positive for COVID last week, will still rematch Juan Francisco Estrada in the main event after a subsequent test came back negative. The bad news is that the other stricken fighter, Maximino Flores, is officially out of what would have been an absolute banger against Julio Cesar Martinez. In his place steps former world title challenger Moises “Taz” Calleros.

The 31-year-old Calleros (33-9-1, 17 KO) twice challenged for minimumweight belts, dropping a split decision to Tatsuya Fukuhara in 2017 and bowing out after eight against Ryuya Yamanaka a year later. His current five-fight streak over low-level competition has seen him bounce from 106 to 122.5 to 115.75 to 113 pounds, so his actual ideal weight is anyone’s guess.
Flores was similarly outclassed, but he likely would have put forth an incredibly entertaining effort in defeat. Calleros is just going to get mauled.
