Daniel Dubois vs Joe Joyce now targeted for late 2020 behind closed doors

As the UK continues to struggle with the coronavirus, Frank Warren has accepted the fruitlessness of waiting to stage Daniel Dubois vs. Joe Joyce until a live audience is feasible. Queensberry Promotions announced today that “Dynamite” and “The Juggernaut” have come to terms to meet behind closed doors “in either late November or early December.”

According to Warren, the two target dates are November 28th and December 5th.

Dubois (15-0, 14 KO) and Joyce (11-0, 10 KO) first planned to meet on April 11th in what ended up being one of the coronavirus’ first major cancellations. A July 11th date likewise came and went, and now the latest October 24th date is also dead in the water. Both men have stayed busy in the interim, as Dubois mulched Ricardo Snijders in August and Joyce smashed Michael Wallisch one month prior.

Frankly, this is absolutely the right call. Joyce isn’t getting any younger and Dubois needs to prove himself against a world-class opponent. Let’s hope this fight finally finds a home in the next couple months.
