Jaron “Boots” Ennis, one of the best prospects in the sport, appears to be squeezing a third fight into his 2020 campaign. ESPN’s Steve Kim reports that the 23-year-old Philly sensation will join Showtime’s Nordine Oubaali-Nonito Donaire card on December 12th, potentially against Thomas Dulorme.
Ennis (26-0, 24 KO) has established himself as a can’t miss welterweight with 16 consecutive knockout victories, all of them in six rounds or fewer. This year has already seen him flatten Bakhtiyar Eyubov and Juan Carlos Abreu, neither of whom had ever been finished, and he presently sits in three sanctioning bodies’ top 15s.
Dulorme (25-4-1, 16 KO) is 1-2-1 in his last four, though that’s not as bad a record as it looks. The first loss came against Yordenis Ugas by the slimmest of margins, the draw came against Jessie Vargas, and he did alright for himself against Jamal James in August. He’s a solid step up for Ennis, even if “Boots’” team would have reportedly preferred Abel Ramos.
Showtime has yet to announce any other undercard bouts.
