Lopez isn’t lacking for confidence heading into the biggest fight of his career.

With Teofimo Lopez closing in on his October 17th fight date against the pound-for-pound rated Vasiliy Lomachenko, Lopez tells RingTV that he won’t be like any of Lomachenko’s previous opponents. Lopez says he’s coming into this fight with a chip on his shoulder and can’t wait to upend the man in order to become the man.

So when asked about speaking so confidently with regards to his expectations for this fight, Lopez says he’s just your average run-of-the-mill fighter and plans to showcase all of his talents.

“I truly believe that I’m built different, and I’m one of those fighters that what can I not do. You people have only seen me for three, three-and-a-half years. Some people look into Teofimo now, or maybe only a year-and-a-half ago, maybe two years ago.

“You guys still haven’t seen anything yet. I’m learning as I continue to do what I do. You haven’t seen anything yet of Teofimo. People only see me a power puncher and I have power in both hands. My ring IQ is different, and that’s going to play a big role on October 17th.”

Lomachenko, of course, is known for his brilliant boxing IQ so we could have a fan-friendly high speed chess match on our hands in a couple of weeks, or maybe even a short night since both fighters are known for their ability to close the show as well. Which do you think is more likely? Sound off in the comments below.
