Popular UK heavyweight Dave Allen will make his return to the ring on Saturday, Oct. 31, facing fellow veteran Christian Hammer on the Usyk-Chisora undercard, which will air on DAZN in the United States.

The 28-year-old Allen (18-5-2, 15 KO) looked like maybe he’d turned a career corner with his Apr. 2019 win over Lucas Browne in an O2 Arena main event, knocking Browne out in the third round on a body shot. But it turned out maybe that Browne was more shot than Allen had made vast improvements, as four months later, Allen was dominated and stopped after 10 rounds by David Price.

Allen last fought on Feb. 8, stopping club fighter Dorian Darch in the third round of a get-well matchup.

Hammer (25-6, 15 KO) is a 33-year-old German, born in Romania, who is really sort of a European title-level guy, though he’s never held (or fought for) that belt. He lost three of his first 10 fights, but to be fair two of those were to Mariusz Wach and Taras Bidenko, who have had decent careers. His losses since have all been against upper tier foes: Tyson Fury in 2015, Alexander Povetkin in 2017, and Luis Ortiz in 2019.
