Matchroom is really emptying the clip on the week before Christmas. In addition to Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith on December 19th and Gennadiy Golovkin vs. Kamil Szeremeta on the 18th, the promotion has once again teamed up with OPI Since 82 to stage a show in Milan on the 17th.

In the main event, reigning European lightweight champion Francesco Patera (23-3, 8 KO) faces veteran Devis Boschiero (48-6-2, 22 KO) for the WBC “silver” title. Patera, unbeaten since a split duology with Edis Tatli in 2017. took Lewis Ritson apart for the Euro belt in 2018 and fights for the first time since a trio of successful defenses last year. Boschiero, 39, generally competes at 130, having missed out on a WBC super featherweight trinket in a 2018 loss to Martin Joseph Ward.
The co-feature sees European super bantamweight champ Luca Rigoldi (22-1-2, 8 KO) defend his belt against Gamal Yafai (17-1, 10 KO). Both men have been feasting on limited opposition of late; Rigoldi’s coming off a six-round draw with 4-12 Spartak Shengelia, while Yafai bounced back from a loss to Gavin McDonnell by smashing three consecutive no-hopers.
The card’s sole world title fight pits newly signed IBF super featherweight champ Maiva Hamadouche (21-1, 17 KO) against Nina Pavlovic (6-3-1, 1 KO) in the former’s sixth defense. Serbia’s Pavlovic is, in short, cannon fodder.
Another fresh Matchroom signee, European super lightweight champ Sandor Martin (36-2, 13 KO), fights Nestor Maradiaga (8-9-1, 4 KO) in a non-title bout. In addition, unbeaten 23-year-old super welterweight Mirko Natalizi (8-0, 5 KO) takes on MAuel Largacha (9-9-6, 4 KO).
