While current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury and former titleholder Deontay Wilder work out their issues in an ongoing legal mediation regarding a third fight, WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman is fully supportive of Wilder getting a chance to regain the green belt he lost early this year.

Sulaiman tells Sky Sports he’s looking forward to Fury and Wilder resolving their issues, adding that Wilder fully deserves a chance to win his organization’s belt back.

“Wilder is a tremendous, important element. He was five years champion of the WBC. Extremely loyal. The greatest knockout ratio. The percentage is unbelievable and he is a very dear fighter, a champion in the WBC and he deserves, of course, another opportunity.”

For now, though, to world will have to wait to see how the mediation process plays out, with Fury looking to move on from the Wilder saga while Wilder, of course, is adamant that nefarious forces were at play last time out and wants get revenge.
