Junior featherweight Shannon Courtenay will look to rebound from her first pro loss on Friday, Dec. 4, when she faces Poland’s Dorota Norek on the Saunders-Murray undercard.

The 27-year-old Courtenay (5-1, 2 KO) is a Matchroom favorite and popular on the British scene in general, but she had a rough go of it stepping up in August, when she lost a decision to Rachel Ball. Courtenay didn’t make weight for that fight, then was dropped in the first round and beaten on points in a competitive, entertaining fight.

Courtenay felt she’d done enough to win, and like any fighter, we’ll have to see if she can bounce back from a first defeat and become better. She’s still a raw fighter in a lot of ways, but she’s got great heart and fights with tremendous determination.
