Teofimo Lopez answers fan questions following foot surgery

The lightweight champion takes any and all questions from social media.

Wil Esco is an assistant editor of Bad Left Hook and has been covering boxing for SB Nation since 2014.

During a fan Q&A session, Teofimo Lopez fielded some questions from fans and talked about where he wants to fight next, and how fellow world titleholder Gervonta Davis is avoiding a fight against him. Check out some quotes below...

Lopez on where he most wants to fight next:

“Madison Square Garden, we’re talking about March, April...It’s gotta be back home in New York. Madison Square Garden, that’s the next one.”

On his foot injury:

“What happened? Just like anything else. Training, really. Got hurt a couple weeks before the fight but, you know, got to fight through it and get the job done, just like we always do.”

On if he thinks Gervonta Davis will duck a fight against him:

“Fuck yeah!

On when he knew he could beat Vasiliy Lomachenko:

“I knew the moment I came out the womb. Facts.”

On his top 3 Latin fighters of all time:

“That’s a tough question. The reason why is because there’s so many great Latin fighters. I gotta say Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Roberto Duran, and save the best for last — that’s me.”
