Matchroom’s Eddie Hearn spoke to iFL TV earlier today, revealing a number of brewing fights during the 51-minute discussion. Namely, the supporting casts for Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev and Dillian Whyte vs. Alexander Povetkin 2 appear to be taking shape.

According to Hearn, he’s planning to pit Hughie Fury (24-3, 14 KO) against Mariusz Wach (36-6, 19 KO) on December 12th. Both men have already fought and won this year; Fury crushed Pavel Sour in March, while Wach turned aside a surprisingly game Kevin Johnson in June. The card will also feature the return of John Ryder (28-5, 16 KO), whom the WBA have ordered to face “gold” champ Fedor Chudinov (23-2, 16 KO). Chudinov last fought in September, stopping Umar Sadiq in 12, and Ryder will take a stay-busy fight if the Russian isn’t ready by next month.

As far as Whyte-Povetkin 2, the planned November 21st show will go ahead with Conor Benn vs. Sebastian Formella in the main event. The new January 30th date will feature Josh Kelly (10-0-1, 6 KO) vs. David Avanesyan (26-3-1, 14 KO) as chief support. This marks Matchroom’s third attempt to stage the fight, as Kelly withdrew from a 2018 date with illness and COVID scrapped a March 28th date this year.
