And another one gone and another one gone~
This Saturday’s PBC on FS1 show in Oxon Hill, Maryland, headlined by the the latest installment of James Kirkland’s comeback tour against Marcos Hernandez, is off due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“In the interest of public health and after reviewing the current information on COVID-19, we have decided the best course of action is to postpone Saturday’s event,” [TGB Promotions President Tom] Brown said. “We understand how disappointing this is to boxing fans and regret any inconvenience.”
Kirkland (34-2, 30 KO) ended a four-year absence from the ring last September with a knockout of Colby Courter, then did the same Jas Phipps two months later. Hernandez (14-3-1, 3 KO) figured to be at least a minor step up, having overachieved in a few fights and held Jeison Rosario to a draw in their first meeting back in 2018.
A Kirkland fight isn’t a huge loss in the Year of Our Lord 2020, but Oxon Hill is set to host the stacked Regis Prograis-Maurice Hooker card on April 17th. You can have this one, CV, just leave that one alone.
