To add to the growing pile of scrapped boxing events, next Thursday’s scheduled Broadway Boxing card from DiBella Entertainment in New Jersey is also off.
The show was set to be streamed on UFC Fight Pass from the Showboat in Atlantic City, and was going to feature the U.S. return of Ghanaian lightweight Emmanuel Tagoe, who fought once in the States back in 2013 and has otherwise spent his entire 16-year pro career in his home country.
The 31-year-old Tagoe (31-1, 15 KO) was set to face journeyman Rey Perez (24-1, 8 KO), a 29-year-old Filipino now based in California. Women’s welterweight contender Kali Reis was also set for action on the show.
Next week’s schedule has pretty much been decimated, with the Michael Conlan card in New York on Tuesday off, plus Golden Boy losing its Thursday Night Fights show in California. It’s also probably wise to assume we won’t be getting Briedis-Dorticos on Saturday in Latvia, with that card likely only going ahead if it’s held in an empty arena.
