Boxing fight times and TV schedule for March 20

What was once a busy week has been decimated by COVID-19.

Note: We’ve already lost shows on Tuesday, Thursday (two events), and Saturday, so it seems unlikely that the one show still currently scheduled to go ahead will actually go ahead, but here’s the schedule anyway, such as it were.

Friday, March 20

ESPN+, 2:30 pm ET, Golden Contract tournament. Hosea Burton, Liam Conroy, Serge Michel, and Ricards Bolotniks are the semifinalists in the 175-pound tournament. The card also has a Commonwealth and British junior welterweight title fight between Philip Bowes and Akeem Ennis-Brown, and an English light heavyweight title fight between Dan Azeez and Andre Sterling. Again, it’s hard to imagine this is actually going to happen at this point. The Premier League has shut down in the UK, for heaven’s sake, it’s hard to imagine the MTK Golden Contract tournament going ahead if it’s not behind closed doors, but we’ll see. You never know. BLH will have live coverage. This card has been canceled.

Watch2Gether, 8:00 pm ET, Bad Left Hook Watch Party. With the schedule in tatters, we’re bringing back the Watch Party. This Friday evening we’ll meet in the Watch2Gether room that I linked and watch the fights and shoot the shoot. On the schedule this week: Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe (1992), Jermain Taylor vs Kelly Pavlik (2007), Edwin Rosario vs Jose Luis Ramirez II (1984), and Pawel Wolak vs Delvin Rodriguez (2011). If you’ve got nothing to do on Friday night, and a lot of us won’t be doing much, then feel free to come on by and hang out for a bit.
