Matchroom follows suit, cancels all March and April events

The promotion had three planned events in Britain

In the wake of the BBBofC canceling all UK events until at least early April, Matchroom Boxing has gone a step further and canceled all of its events until May, scrapping a trio of planned cards on DAZN.

Unlike Top Rank and PBC, however, Eddie Hearn and co. are already looking into rescheduling. If you’ve somehow found a way to get blocked by Matchroom on Twitter and can’t see the post:

  • The March 28th David Avanesyan-Josh Kelly card will see its cast “merged into future cards.” I’m pretty sure it was still about 80% comprised of TBA, so that shouldn’t be difficult.
  • The April 4th Lewis Ritson-Miguel Vazquez card will take place June 27th.
  • The April 24th Terri Harper-Natasha Jones card will take place in June “with a date to be confirmed shortly.”

And with that, it looks like we’re down to Joe Joyce-Daniel Dubois until the summer. Unless, of course, I can successfully sell my plan to host events at 10,000 feet in rings suspended by hot air balloons. Still working out the kinks, but I stand by the Lawnchair Larry method.
